Begin your journey at the sacred Okusha (Inner Shrine) of Togakushi, where towering cedar trees and centuries of spiritual tradition create an unforgettable atmosphere. After a relaxing lunch and free time to explore, continue to the world-famous Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park. Here, you’ll have the rare opportunity to observe wild Japanese macaques up close, often soaking in natural hot springs during the winter months.

This full-day tour combines nature, culture, and wildlife, offering a truly unique way to experience the charm of Nagano in a single day.

Itinerary

  • 9:30 AM | Starbucks (Nagano Station, Zenkoji Entrance)

    Meet your guide outside the Starbucks at Nagano Station (Zenkoji Entrance).

    Your guide will be standing outside the station, holding a sign.

  • 10:20 AM | Togakushi Okusha Shrine

    Walk along a majestic cedar-lined path to one of Japan’s most sacred shrines.

    It takes approximately 30 minutes to walk from the Togakushi Okusha Shrine entrance to the shrine itself (stairs included).

  • 11:50 AM | Lunch & Free Time

    Enjoy a locally prepared meal and explore at your own pace.

  • 2:10 PM | Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park

    Watch wild monkeys relax in hot springs in a unique natural setting.

    It takes approximately 35 minutes to walk from the park entrance to the snow monkey area.

  • 5:10 PM | Nagano Station Drop-Off

    Return to Nagano with lasting memories of culture, nature, and wildlife.

  • Your tour begins and ends at Nagano Station.

Cancellation Policy

The cancellation fee is as follows:

  • 20 days prior or more: no charge
  • 19-8 days prior: 20% of the total tour cost
  • 7-2 days prior: 30% of the total tour cost
  • 1 day prior: 40% of the total tour cost
  • The day of the tour before the tour start time: 50% of the total tour cost
  • After the tour start time / no-show: 100% of the total tour cost

Inclement Weather

  • No cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations due to inclement weather.

Points of Attention

  • Tour routes will be adjusted as needed.
  • We recommend purchasing travel insurance for added peace of mind. Minimum coverage is included.
  • Please wear comfortable walking attire, as you will be walking for extended periods of time.
  • In rare cases, if we cannot secure a guide, the tour may be canceled with a full refund. You will be notified at least one day in advance.
  • Participants are responsible for any damage to their personal belongings during the tour or any additional activities.
  • We cannot be held responsible for any accidents or issues that may arise during the tour.
