Begin your journey in Obuse, a historic town where the world-renowned artist Katsushika Hokusai spent his final years. Explore the Hokusai-kan Museum and Gansho-in Temple, home to his breathtaking ceiling masterpiece. Enjoy a local lunch and experience the charm of this cultural hub.

In the afternoon, head into the mountains to visit the famous Jigokudani Monkey Park. Watch the wild Japanese macaques up close in their natural habitat (famous worldwide for bathing in hot springs during winter). This full-day tour offers a perfect balance of art, history, and nature, making for an unforgettable Nagano experience.

  • 10:00 AM | Starbucks (Nagano Station, Zenkoji Entrance)

Cancellation Policy

The cancellation fee is as follows:

  • 20 days prior or more: no charge
  • 19-8 days prior: 20% of the total tour cost
  • 7-2 days prior: 30% of the total tour cost
  • 1 day prior: 40% of the total tour cost
  • The day of the tour before the tour start time: 50% of the total tour cost
  • After the tour start time / no-show: 100% of the total tour cost

Inclement Weather

  • No cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations due to inclement weather.

  • Tour routes will be adjusted as needed.
  • We recommend purchasing travel insurance for added peace of mind. Minimum coverage is included.
  • Please wear comfortable walking attire, as you will be walking for extended periods of time.
  • In rare cases, if we cannot secure a guide, the tour may be canceled with a full refund. You will be notified at least one day in advance.
